Effingham County – Hurricane Irma Citizen Update
Effingham County, GA – As Hurricane Irma has officially passed, it’s important to note a few updates with regards to the public works operations. A large portion of our job is to educate the public as we know these storm events can present a lot of questions and concerns for the community.
WATER SAFETY: As of today, citizens living within county limits should note there is not a boil water advisory in place at this time. You may ask how that’s possible given the loss of power for the majority of the area? Our staff worked tirelessly over the past weeks mobilizing temporary power in anticipation of a power loss during the impending storm. Although power was lost to a large majority of the county, our team was able to continue the power necessary to maintain proper pressure and disinfection process in our water system ensuring zero interruptions to the citizens served.
ROAD ADVISORIES: All previously listed roads have been repaired by our team and are now fully functioning for resident usage.
